The forum is organised into two main formats: a plenary session for general discussions and 3 specialised workshops focusing on key issues: implementing core policies for sustainable urban development in Vietnam; advancing sustainable development goals and the new urban agenda in Vietnam; and urban adaptation to climate change aimed at sustainable development. At the event, enCity’s Director of Planning and Infrastructure, Mr. Hai Pham, gave a presentation titled “Urban Planning Towards Sustainable Development Goals: Strategies for Vietnamese Cities”. The presentation outlined a specific and feasible action roadmap to raise community awareness on the importance of sustainable urban development, while equipping policymakers and investors with the necessary tools to implement projects effectively. The key points included:
  • Preserving and promoting urban natural, cultural, and historical values;
  • Sustainable economic development that creates opportunities for all segments of society;
  • Enhancing social equity and community participation;
  • Integrating green infrastructure planning and developing flood-adaptive urban areas;
  • Planning green transportation and integrated technical infrastructure.
The event serves as an opportunity for enCity to share experiences, collaborate, and create breakthroughs with partners and field experts, while reinforcing the commitment to building a network of sustainable urban areas in Vietnam and the Asian region.
