On the morning of May 30, enCity delegation met with Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, and representatives from relevant municipal departments — continuing a close partnership focused on heritage urban development and innovation.

James Chew — Director of Planning and Investment at enCity, and former senior planning and development official at Singapore’s Ministry of National Development and the Urban Redevelopment Authority — presenting a commemorative gift to Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee.

The meeting took place at a particularly meaningful moment: General Secretary and President To Lam was on a State Visit to the Republic of Singapore — where enCity is headquartered — a coincidence that speaks to the deepening ties between Vietnam and Singapore.

The meeting reflected on a shared journey of research and advisory work on Hue’s adjusted Master Plan for 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050. The plan lays the groundwork for a new phase of growth: unlocking the potential of coastal and lagoon economies, developing cultural industries tied to heritage tourism, and placing science, technology, and innovation at the core of the city’s development strategy.

Looking ahead, enCity is expected to continue contributing to Hue’s key urban planning priorities, including:

→ Review and adjustment of Hue’s Master Plan to 2045, with a vision to 2065
→ Urban design for the Hue Imperial Citadel area
→ Planning research for the high-speed rail station precinct based on a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) approach
→ Detailed planning for the Dong Ba Market area
→ Application of GIS and AI in urban planning management

Drawing on international experience in urban planning and development consultancy, enCity is committed to proposing integrated solutions that balance the preservation of Hue’s unique heritage with the demands of a forward-looking city — contributing to Hue’s vision as a distinctive heritage city and a regional hub for culture, tourism, and innovation.
