Dzung’s presentation was the highlight of Theme 2 – Urban planning towards sustainable development. This was one of three major themes of the event, along with Digital Transformation in Urban Development Management and Climate-Resilient Urban Development.
In his presentation, Dzung reinforced enCity’s stance that integration is the essential nature of planning; every project, every infrastructure serves multiple purposes and has an impact on a wide range of stakeholders. There is no planning without integration, of which physical urban planning is perhaps the most complicated kind, as it involves the interests of many and requires significant resources to implement.

Although urban development at the speed and scale of cities in Vietnam brings issues related to flooding, traffic, housing, and other aspects, Dzung’s presentation moves beyond discussing the age-old issues and looks to feasible solutions that opens up opportunities for future development. From his many years of experience in urban and regional development in the world and in Vietnam, Dzung proposes planning concepts and effective integrated planning solution frameworks.
Dzung’s presentation received positive responses from many leaders and experts in the industry. Representatives of the Department of Planning and Architecture of Hanoi commended the scientific and multidisciplinary approaches that Dzung proposed.Vietnam Urban Summit is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Construction. This is one of the most important forums of the year, with the participation of many leaders and urban planning and development experts at home and abroad, to jointly determine the development pathways for Vietnamese cities.
