This September, Dr Phi Ho and Ms Trang Vuong (Managing Directors of enCity) went on a business trip to the Netherlands for further research about MOTA (Motivation and Ability), which is a framework for providing various kinds of planning models and solutions. Dr. Phi Ho is the main author of this framework since the early 2010s.
In Delft, they visited long-time colleagues from IHE (Institute for Water Education), the largest international institute in the world for research and graduate education about water. We continue our co-research about MOTA (Motivation and Ability), a framework applicable for providing various kinds of planning and solutions. Dr. Phi Ho, the main author of this framework since early 2010s, has brought excitement to the roundtable discussion this week with brand new development for the model.
In Rotterdam, the delegation had a site visit and discussion on water solutions regarding technical, financial, institutional, and social perspectives with senior authorities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Rotterdam City Government. After their follow-up visit to our office earlier this year to learn further about enCity methodology and projects including ones in HCMC and the Mekong Delta, we are delighted to continue the conversation in the Netherlands. They are very open to examine the successful aspects as well as remaining problems of Dutch cities and look forward to next steps in the years to come. enCity have also shared glocal insights from diverse contexts so that both can learn from each other.

At enCity, we practice multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach in which planning and solutions, depending on each case, can integrate mobility, design, technology, environmental and policy advisory, among others. Our senior members have been leading projects in various settings such as Dubai, India, China, Maldives, Singapore, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Viet Nam and Oman. With our three main expertise in planning, design and technology, we are delighted to collaborate with international partners to co-create and implement comprehensive solutions for communities, cities and regions.
