As we actively advance our passion for sustainable Asian urbanism, enCity is thrilled to announce the launching of our operations in Bandung, Indonesia. Officially recognized by UNESCO as part of the Creative Cities Network, Bandung features a thriving economy driven by entrepreneurship, design and local culture –a strategic location for our pursuit of innovation and global talent.
Our official address is at Road Banda No. 30, 6th Floor, Block C, Bandung 40115.
Known as Indonesia’s innovative and educational hub, Bandung is home to a dozen top universities, as well as numerous R&D and industrial activities that leverage design and technology. In fact, more than half of its economy is composed of the creative sector, with fashion, graphic design and digital media being the leading industries. The city also hosts various programmes, workshops and conferences that engage citizens in urban initiatives often organised by its young demographic. This strong sense of creativity, identity and community is what attracted enCity to Bandung as we expand to new markets in the southeast region and grow our international team of experts.

Bandung – The beautiful landscape city
Managing the new office is our Principal in Urban Design and Architecture, Doni Iskandar. Born and raised in Bandung himself, Doni brings back his international experience in leading an intimate and collaborative practice in Indonesia.
“During the colonial Dutch East Indies era, Bandung had the nickname of ‘Paris Van Java’ or ‘The Paris of Java.’ As a creative city with a vibrant heritage and the best universities in Indonesia, Bandung provides an ideal space for young talents to explore and innovate,” said Doni.
“Our goal for enCity Bandung is to create an intimate studio environment with a collaborative design-led approach. Our aim is to build a vibrant and diverse team that can thrive in an egalitarian work culture based on cumulative thoughts and ideas.”
“By the end of 2022, Bandung will have a new fast train connecting it to Jakarta, shortening the travel time from 2 hours to only 36 minutes. This way, it will be convenient to meet clients and oversee projects in Indonesia’s capital while maintaining our office in the Creative City.”

We also welcome our talented Bandung team members who come from different leading institutions in the country – Maulana Reddy Firmansyah, Dayu Imbarjati and Desta Fatika. Together with Doni, they form a multi-disciplinary team of designers and professionals that embody enCity’s values in delivering innovative solutions.
With Indonesia’s rapid growth in population, economy and urbanisation, along with challenges of climate change and plans of relocating the capital, there is an increasing demand for sustainable city building solutions in the country.
