“Singapore Chronicles: Urban Planning” was conceptualised in 2015, at the request of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, to shed light on how Singapore became the modern and global island-state it is today. The book offers a comprehensive overview of Singapore’s planning process, delving into various critical aspects, including the Built Environment, Housing and Mobility, Economy and Industry, Environment and Water.

In close collaboration with Professor Heng, enCity is honored to help bring the insights of this book to our Vietnamese audience through the publication of the translated version earlier this year. This publication prompts conversations about the invaluable lessons Vietnam can learn from the human-made miracles throughout the journey of planning, building, and developing Singapore.

Professor Heng Chye Kiang is currently the Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation) of the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) at the National University of Singapore. He holds the position of  Senior Advisor at enCity.
