This exciting opportunity with ADB and the Maldives government builds upon rich experience from both Agritecture and enCity. The team has worked together extensively in the development of the Lim Chu Kang Masterplan in Singapore, in which radical innovations in food systems design and circularity were proposed for more resilient food production. Senior members of enCity have also worked extensively in the masterplanning of important regions in the Maldives, giving us important insights to the development context of the country.

The effects of climate change on food security are intensifying and thus mere incremental adjustments to existing systems may not be sufficient in protecting food security of Maldivians. The consortium will carry out a study that will outline transformational changes required for strengthening climate resilience of the national food system and priority actions over the short- and medium-term. This study has implications for other nations in Asia and beyond, who are all facing similar challenges regarding food security and climate change.
enCity is excited to embark on this new endeavor with our trusted partners and clients.
